Le'Kisha will be outside Wholly Craft from 9am-12pm this Saturday during the Clintonville Farmers' Market. She'll be bringing her entire collection of fabric pouches, handbags, and tote bags. Although she's a lifetime crafter, she's relatively new to the Columbus craft business scene, so please give her a warm welcome! Here's a little more about Le'Kisha and LD Graham Designs:

Let's start with an easy one: What do you make?
I make and design handmade handbags, totes, wristlets, change purses and other accessories. Also make and design clothes such as dresses, shirts, etc. I upcycle clothes and other items and do alterations too.

How did you get started making your current line of products?
I learned how to sew from my grandmother at the age of 7. Growing up, I had a love of accessories like handbags and jewelry  - things that make a plain outfit "POP". So in 2007  I started drawing out different handbag styles, picking out fabric, and sewing everything by hand. I started out upcycling to reuse my favorite clothes and turn them into something else...something HOT! A year later I purchased my own sewing machine.

When I made my first piece back in 2007, I wore it to work and got a lot of great comments on it. Soon, my co-workers were giving me shirts to make tote bags and the response just kept getting bigger.  That's when I decided to write out a price list and turned my hobby into a business!

What do you like to do in your non-crafting time?
I love to be with my family -  either out and about with them or just in the house relaxing! I also love to shop and travel!

What’s your favorite thing about Clintonville?
I really love the vibe in Clintonville. All the shops that run up and down High Street are warm and friendly and the people always have a smile on their face!
