Meet Your Maker: Twinzzshop
Posted on July 09 2015
What's cuter than twin babies? Well how about twin babies in adorable coordinating bodysuits! At this week's Meet Your Maker, we'll be joined by Kelly Zalenski of Twinzzshop who is creating fun, colorful baby and toddler wear for twins and singles too. We're huge fans of Kelly's work and my toddler is always sporting one of her cute hats. If there's a little one--or two or three!--in your life, be sure to come by on Saturday, July 11th from 9am-12pm to check out the full line from Twinzzshop. Here's a little more about Kelly and her business:
Let’s start with an easy one: What do you make?
Hi! i make fun onesies (and t-shirts 2T and up to adult!) that have hand-stitched recycled t-shirt appliques that celebrate twins and siblings, but i also make tons for all the "single babies" too!
How did you get started making your current line of products? Why did you decide to make it a business?
At my baby (well, BABIES shower!) I didn't really get anything that was for twins, and I thought twins are so special, how come I didn't get any twin related stuff? when I looked around, I found there was little selection and many were poorly designed or really expensive or both. I thought, I could do better!
I made my 1st set of twin onesies when my twins were about 6mo old. I made "peanut butter and jelly" and soon after made "milk and cookies" and "mac & cheese". When people saw them, they exclaimed "twins! Where did you get their onesies?!" and I said I made them. Soon others asked me to make them for twins they knew and it grew from there! That was 7 years ago and now I have 185+ listings in my etsy shop of different designs for twins, triplets and of course single babies!
What do you like to do in your non-crafting time?
I love making memories with my twins, who are turning 7 this summer! we love exploring outside, movies, putt-putt and bowling together. we also love taking day trips whenever we can to experience new things.
What’s your favorite thing about Clintonville? (outside of Wholly Craft of course, haha!)
All the little shops that showcase local things and the antique shops and places to find one of kind things for the twins and for gifts!
